Troubleshoot delayed updates and syncing issues for lists, preferences, and account data in Grocery Savvy.

Overview

Grocery Savvy syncs your account data when your device is online. If changes are not appearing right away, the issue is often a connection problem, an account mismatch, or a temporary delay.

This guide covers common sync-related issues for lists, preferences, favorites, and other account data.

Quick Checks First

Before troubleshooting further:

  1. Make sure your device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
  2. Close and reopen the app.
  3. Check that you are using the latest version of Grocery Savvy.
  4. Confirm you are signed in to the correct account.

Changes Are Not Appearing Right Away

If a recent change (such as a list update or preference change) does not appear immediately:

  • Pull to refresh (if available on that screen)
  • Navigate away and back to the screen
  • Close and reopen the app
  • Wait a moment and check again (some updates may take a short time to appear)

This is the most common type of sync issue and is usually temporary.

Data Appears on One Device but Not Another

If data appears on one device but not another:

  1. Verify you are signed in to the same email/account on both devices.
  2. Make sure both devices have internet access.
  3. Update Grocery Savvy on both devices.
  4. Reopen the app on the device that is missing data.

If the problem continues, sign out and sign back in on the affected device.

Preferences or Settings Changes Are Not Updating

If changes to preferences (for example dietary preferences or privacy settings) do not seem to save:

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Wait a few seconds and reopen the screen.
  • Try making the change again.
  • Make sure you are signed in and your session has not expired.

If you see an error message, try again after reopening the app.

Subscription Status Not Updating

If your subscription status does not look correct after a purchase or restore:

  • Open SettingsManage Subscription and verify the subscription on your platform.
  • Use Restore Purchase in the subscription screen.
  • Restart the app and check again.

What Grocery Savvy Does Not Provide (MVP)

For MVP, Grocery Savvy does not include a manual Sync Now button or a dedicated sync settings page. Most syncing happens automatically while you use the app online.

Still Having Sync Problems?

If the issue continues after the steps above:

  • Restart your device
  • Sign out and sign back in
  • Reinstall the app (your account data is stored with your account)
  • Contact support via Contact Support

When contacting support, include:

  • What you changed (for example list item, preference, or subscription)
  • What you expected to happen
  • What happened instead
  • Your device type (iPhone or Android)
  • App version (if available)
