Quick fixes for common Grocery Savvy problems, including sign-in, search, scanning, and syncing.

App Won't Open
If Grocery Savvy won't launch or keeps closing:
- Force close the app and reopen it.
- Restart your device.
- Make sure you are using the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Reinstall the app if the issue continues.
If the issue persists, see App Crashes.
Can't Sign In
If you're having trouble signing in:
- Double-check your email and password.
- Make sure your device has an internet connection.
- Use Forgot Password on the login screen if needed.
- If you recently signed up, make sure you complete email verification.
If you still can't access your account, use Contact Support.
Search Is Not Working or Shows No Results
If food search is not working as expected:
- Check your internet connection.
- Try a different search term (for example, a simpler product name).
- Make sure your app is up to date.
- Try barcode scanning or manual barcode entry as another way to find an item.
If the app shows an error while searching, close and reopen the screen and try again.
Barcode Scanner Not Working
If the Barcode Scanner is not recognizing a product:
- Make sure Grocery Savvy has camera permission enabled.
- Scan in a well-lit area.
- Hold the barcode inside the frame and keep the camera steady.
- Try manual barcode entry if scanning does not work.
Sometimes the scanner works, but the item is not yet in our food database. In that case:
- Use the option to manually enter the item
- Report the issue from Settings → Help & Support
- Choose Email Support or Send Feedback (this opens your device email app so you can send us details)
If camera access was denied, you can enable it in your device settings and try again.
Changes Not Appearing Right Away
If updates (like lists, preferences, or profile changes) do not appear right away:
- Check your internet connection.
- Pull to refresh or reopen the screen.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Make sure you are signed in to the correct account.

Subscription or Billing Issues
If your subscription is not updating correctly or you have billing questions:
- Open Settings → Manage Subscription and verify your subscription status.
- Try Restore Purchase in the subscription screen.
- Check your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
