Download a copy of your Grocery Savvy account data from the Privacy screen.
Overview
Grocery Savvy lets you download a copy of your account data from the Privacy screen.
For MVP, data export is provided as a downloadable JSON file that you can save or share using your device's system share options.
Accessing Data Export
- Open the Home screen.
- Tap the Settings icon in the header (top-right).
- Tap Privacy.
- In Data Management, tap Download My Data.
You can review the Privacy screen controls in Privacy & Security.
Security Confirmation
For security, the app may ask you to re-enter your password before exporting your data.
This helps confirm that the export request is being made by you.
Export Format (MVP)
Data export is currently provided as:
- JSON — A structured file format commonly used for data portability and backups
After the export is prepared, Grocery Savvy opens your device's share options so you can choose where to save or send the file.
What May Be Included
Your export may include the data associated with your account, such as:
- Profile information (for example, display name and email)
- App preferences (such as privacy-related settings)
- Favorites
- Grocery lists and list items
- Meal plans
- Custom items you created
The exact contents may vary based on what you have used in the app.
What Is Not Included
The export is intended to provide your account data used in Grocery Savvy. Billing and subscription payments are managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are not exported from the app.
